Excess Baggage

Can I lend at least 5 minutes of your time? Let's do this together as family. Let's close our eyes & forget everything about wealth, ambitions, corporate position, achievement. Let's try to recollect our personal life by asking, "What is it that I have been doing until now that pains God?.

Now open your eyes! Then tell me your thoughts.

The reason why we do this exercise is for us to know who really we are. The memories that we have recollected are our excess baggage w/c we have to dump because these are nothing but garbage.

Excess baggage could be anger that we have been nursing until now w/c is dangerous to health, pride w/c disharmonizes relationship believing that we're always right, lust w/c defocuses mind to a much productive endeavor, avarice w/c obsesses us to deprive others to progress, gluttony w/c makes us forget that there are still people behind us who just sleep to forget hunger, envy w/c endangers friendship because of obsession of sole stardom, sloth w/c prevent us to be creative.

These are the reasons why we could not love the people around us. These imperfections are the ones that prevent the blessings to multiply. These the deadly capital sins that continue to destroy our economy & national security, that create division.

Romans 1:29-32 They are filled w/ every form of wickedness, evil, greed, & malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, & spite. They are gossips & scandalmongers & they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, & rebellious toward their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Matthew 5:19-20 I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes & the Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
