2 Timothy 3:7 People will be self-centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them. For some of these slip into homes and make captives of women weighed down by sins, led by various desires, always trying to learn but never able to reach a knowledge of the truth.
Romans 12:2 Do not
conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and
perfect.
Ephesians 5:10-14 Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness;
rather expose them, for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them
in secret; but everything exposed by the light becomes
visible, for everything that becomes visible is light.
Drug
addiction is just like any explored diversion of time to different pleasurable
outlet (like sexual experimentation, alcoholism, pornography) that could be
hardly taken from one’s system when it’s already a lifestyle; "We are what we frequently do. Excellence then,
is not an act, but a habit." Money, publicity and too many
temptations when mismanaged usually lead to drug addictions.
The
world has lost far too many bright stars to drug addiction and alcohol abuse. Many celebrities of the past half century have
been plagued with substance abuse problems, with catastrophic results.
The common denominator in all these young celebrity deaths is
substance abuse, a dependence that can result in depression, insomnia,
personality changes, impaired judgment, and poor relationships.
Craving for pleasure through drugs and/or self-medication is used
by some as an escape and in the guise of medical care which ends up in deaths.
Despite
fame, fortune and occupation, in the eyes of substance abuse, everyone is fair
game. Proof of that can be seen in the all-too-common reports of famous
celebrities who publicly struggle with addiction or experiencing a relapse.
Nevertheless,
anyone of these vices including drug addiction which give headache in the guise
of exterior pleasure can be put right by anyone who has the will to rectify,
and this has been proven by the renowned personalities. Proverbs 24:16 For the just man falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble to ruin.
Renowned
personalities’ conversions when taken notice of gives more excitement and sometimes
people tend to be quick on elevating them to the status of models of Christian
life – the saints of this generation. Let’s see how drug addiction affects and
ends some precious lives, and embrace hopes through rehabilitation until self-transformation
and advocacy against it alter the atmosphere:
1). Adolph Hitler
He
was leader of the Nazi Party, chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and a
methamphetamine addict. The Daily Mail reports that Hitler abused crystal meth before
a 1943 meeting with Mussolini, where he ranted for two hours. Moreover, the Fuhrer Fuhrer
took
nine shots of meth while living out his last days in a bunker.

other psychedelics while writing the novel and was even injected with the drug

years old.
4). Amanda

most of the filming of Teen

she was 22 and her modeling career was at its peak, she was abusing cocaine and

been sober since.
She hopes that someone and somewhere will hear something that will help them and perhaps get them out of the shadows and the darkness of addiction and bring them into the light.

2007, she was reportedly hospitalized for an overdose on heroin, ecstasy,
ketamine and alcohol, and it was established accidental alcohol poisoning

for being an athlete and surfing extraordinaire, this guy struggled with
poly-addictions. Hotel maids found his lifeless body in 2010, lying in a bed
with the sheets pulled up to his chin. Autopsy results showed that he died of
cardiac arrest from a mixture of cocaine, methamphetamine, alprazolam and
methadone.
9). Angelina Jolie
She
has always had that punk rock spirit in her. It was reported that when she was
dating Billy Bob Thornton, they kept bottles with their blood in them. She
just liked to experiment. However, when she got engaged with Brad Pitt, she
decided to stop on that part of her life.
