Calamansi or Calamonding
(Citrus Microcarpal) is very abundant in the Philippines, not to mention its affordability and
accessibility as these can be found everywhere, so there’s no reason for any
Filipino not to preserve health in a reasonably priced approach. Quite the reverse,
human cannot attain quality life because of abuse on health (drunkenness,
smoking, food supplement, etc,). The
Catholic Church keeps on reminding of its people that, "The virtue of temperance disposes us to avoid
every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, or medicine. Those
incur grave guilt who, by drunkenness or the likes, endanger their own (Catechism of the Catholic Church CCC 2290).
Taken as a daily
regimen, drink 28 pieces of Calamansi and take it pure. Here are the 4 rules on
how:[1]
- Drink it first thing as you wake up in the morning while with an empty stomach.
- Don’t put anything to put taste on it but take it pure. Adding water and sugar would make it acidic.
- Take the green ones than yellow ones.
- Don't grab any chow for another hour. Wait for an hour before consuming anything else. Take your breakfast later after an hour
- Rinse Calamansi properly
- Cut at the side.
- Squeeze its juice
- Take a fork and mix the juice as if beating an egg.
- Take out the seeds using fork.
- Take it as your Morning Power Drink!
Regular Intake of Calamansi Juice Prevents Cancer
Cancer cells live in
acidic environment!
Calamansi is alkaline once taken pure/without mixture even of water or sugar. It turns to be acidic when mixing it
with water and sugar. Therefore, drinking Calamansi juice daily prevents
cancer.
Aside from which, Calamansi
is a good source of Vitamin C which is a great antioxidant, a great immune
system booster, a great wound healer and a great toxin cleaner!
Calamansi tastes sourly
which may not suitable to one’s sense of taste. Nonetheless, if it's your first

This is just a small
price to pay for your health as Calamansi is affordable. In the Philippines, it’s only about 40 pesos
per kilo depending on location perhaps.
On the other hand, Lemon (Citrus Limon) can also be another option if afforded. Again, in the Philippines it's not expensive which can be bought at 20 pesos per piece while other peddlers sell it at 3 pieces for 50 pesos.
Just the same, it is
best to drink lemon juice on an empty stomach, as soon as you wake up in the
morning and/or 30 minutes before meals.
Take a
lemon (organic would be a best choice) and cut it into half. Squeeze the juice into a large mug or
heat-proof cup. Put warm, purified water
in the mug. Note that boiling water eliminates
some of the vitamins and enzymatic properties of lemon so warm is preferred. Drink it gradually and wait for thirty minutes
before taking breakfast, as this process guarantees the absorption of many
nutrients as possible into the body.
Drinking lemon juice 30 minutes before a meal[2] not only provides additional
enzymes but assist produce sufficient stomach acid to help digestion and to get
the most nutrients out of one’s food.
Taking lemon juice or
any fluid right after meals (or during meals) slows down the digestive process
by diluting body's digestive juices.
Depending on what meal
is taken, the digestive process can take several hours, but the major part of
the meal is digested within the first hour or so. Hence, it is best for at
least an hour interval after meals before taking water or lemon juice or any
other beverage.
Further, digestion is a
chemical process in the body that generates heat therefore drinking any cold
beverage during, right before, or right after eating suspends digestion. Optimal
digestion is critical for good health.
For individuals who
feel to drink during or right after meals, sipping small amounts of filtered
water or warm tea is recommended.
Generally, when we are
very thirsty during or after meals, it is because our body is dehydrated or
because of eating foods with too much refined salt.
