The legendary singer battled addiction in the 1990s and recently died of heart failure caused by lung disease in 2016.

The queen of all media made a clean breast during a 1995 broadcast of The Oprah Winfrey Show that she was dependent on crack cocaine on her early career.

It’s hard to imagine Oprah doing anything wrong, but she actually admitted once that she used crack cocaine in the 80′s. She admitted doing this because she thought it would help other people with the same drug addiction to overcome it. No one knows for sure for how long she has used crack or when exactly she decided to stop, but it sure is inspirational. It was the 80′s people!

He battled to stay sober for years, but lost his fight when he died in early 2014 from combined drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepines despite being in recovery for more than two decades. Reports indicated that he had slipped back into prescription opioids and, ultimately, relapsed with heroin.
