Trust Not In The Abundance Of Riches

In the context of human wisdom, abundance of riches is the basis of a blessing. The more crispy dollars you have in the pocket, the more you are blessed. The bigger the sales a business could heap up, the more it is blessed.

But now that the crippling financial crisis is apparent w/c results of the many companies to be dumped in one corner w/c emptied out your pocket & weaken up your sales productivity, does it mean that we're not blessed anymore? Does it mean that we pick on God to make some clamors because of this defeat? Does it mean that we could only recognize God when we are financially abundant? Does the crucial event embitter us?

The reason why God loves the poor is because their dependence is completely on God. When they're in crisis & in sickness; the first they call is God asking for grace, for providence. But when the rich is on hard times, the first they call is their money. Their confidence is in their wealth. They overlooked God who's the Giver of money. They forget to seek God's providential powers of grace & mercy.

For one to survive, yes money is essential. But the essence of survival is not solely dependent on it. The most significant in coping up misfortune is our complete trust to the providence of the Divine Mercy Who has the final say of what are those best keeps that will bring us to an ultimate joy. Yes, our ultimate joy is in the thought that there is God whose weakness is our call falling on our knees to be beside Him. Truly, our survival in any crisis is our trust is in the abundance of riches, but not in the riches of our toils but in the riches of unexpected God's provision through the richness of His Will; through abundant & immeasurable love w/c manifest in everyone's purity & piety.

Proverbs 11:27 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but like green leaves, the just flourish.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord w/ all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not; In all your ways be mindful of Him & He will make straight your path.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 Tell the rich in the present age not to be proud & not to rely on so uncertain on things as wealth but rather on God, who richly provides us w/ all things for our enjoyment. Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share, thus accumulating as treasure on good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.
