Almost 2009 years ago when Jesus ascended into heaven after the resurrection, He commissioned His disciples to reach out to all nations to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, & of the Son, & of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe the covenant.
Our country is very much blessed because in the long run we have been reached by the Messengers of the Covenant. We must be thankful because our ancestors were responsive as recipients of the Covenant through the Priests who brought us to a strong belief w/c lead us to searching the difference of entering into a Covenant w/ God against lingering on human tradition.
We have failed to align ourselves in our covenant w/ God as instituted to us by the Church Leaders, Elders & Preachers. Man's vulnerability may have been corrupted by the world's pleasures w/c hardens the hearts of many. Some maybe are just closed-minded about religiosity w/c brought others to be stubborn. Because of these, the wrong values have been crippling in our society today.
The challenge for everyone is to discern for a more profound perspective about life by asking, "What am I here for in this earth?"Does my existence mean just to work, eat, enjoy & die later on & no more? Through these questions, we may find the answer that indeed our existence has been dependent with a Covenant. If the siblings have a covenant towards their parents & parents towards their siblings & so we human in general must have too beyond all these.
If we come up w/ the belief that our life is dependent with a Covenant, then we must need the Messenger of the Covenant whom we could listen to for continued awareness, guidance & inspiration. We need the Priests, Preachers, & Elders as the Messengers of the Covenant. They are the Keepers of the Covenant, Defender of the Covenant, the Mouthpiece of the Lord, charged to proclaim the Covenant; the Covenant rooted in the Divine Mercy but never a covenant rooted in the human tradition & knowledge.
1 Corinthian 15:33-34 Do not be led astray: "Bad company corrupts good morals. Become sober as you ought & stop sinning. For some have no knowledge of God; I say this to your shame.”
2 Timothy 3:1-7 But understand this: “There will be terrifying times in the last days. People will be self-centered & lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them. For some of these slip into homes & make captives of women weighed down by sins, led by various desires, always trying to learn but never able to reach a knowledge of the truth.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, & you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea & Samaria, & to the ends of the earth.
Matthew 10:14 Whoever will not receive or listen to your words - go outside that house or town & shake the dust from your feet. Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom & Gomorrah on the Day of Judgment than for that town.
John 20:21-23 Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he has said this, He breathed on them & said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven, & whose sins you retain are retained.”
