Anxieties
have been eating so much of individual’s time because of worrying so much of future,
education for the kids, food budget, house rental and utility bills,
appliances, clothing.......jewelry, shopping, car maintenance, nightlife,
casino.
Life
is really beautiful but life in complication is not wonderful. Of course, some
may be reactive by saying, “You could say that because you don't have any
million dollar accounts in Bank of America!”
Absolutely,
there's nothing wrong with all the cars, shopping, nightlife because it's fulfilling
to see the fruits of labors but please be reminded that we have brethren out
there who just survive the whole day by inhaling a 5-peso rugby (all-purpose
contact cement).
We
are so much anxious to maintain living in our comfort zones but a lot don’t seem to look back to see those who have
less in life. It's not miserable enough to remove that nightlife, jewelry,
casino to replace it instead with charity for the impoverished.
Some
may be very busy on meeting their wants that are perishable but pay no
attention on something that is imperishable which is human’s gateway to the
unexceptional homecoming. The comforts that the priveleged enjoy on casino,
jewelry, vices are immaterial in heaven.
Life
is beautiful when we are in comfort but life could be more beautiful when we
give comfort to those in discomfort, who need attention of love, support and
provision. Anyone who can do this is just a breath away towards heaven where
God and all His choir of Angels sing and dance of joy preparing ahead for an
unexceptional homecoming of a dearest soul.
Matthew 16:19-31 There was a
richman who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously
each day. And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus covered with
sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the
richman's table. Dogs even used to come and lick his sores. When the poor man
died, he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham. The richman also
died and was buried, and from the netherworld, where he was in torment, he
raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he cried
out, “Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his
finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.”
Abraham replied, “My child, you received what was good during your lifetime
while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here,
whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is
established to prevent anyone go from our side to yours or from your side to
ours.” He said, Then I beg you, father, send him to my father's house, for I have
five brothers, so that he may warn them lest they too come to this place of
torment.” But Abraham replied, “They have Moses and the prophets.” He said, “Oh
no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will
repent.” Then Abraham said, “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets
neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.”
