"One man's prayer helps a woman...thousands of miles
away"
William Navarro
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Prayer knows no boundaries. If a prayer can move from the earth to
the heavens above, then it can also move across the vast continents and seas.
William lives and works in Vietnam, more than 5,000 miles and a
continent away from New Zealand, where Beverly Aves lives. Though they don't
know each other personally, they would share a common connection - prayer.
William has been a God-fearing man whose faith grew even more
after becoming a devotee of the Divine Mercy. Because of this devotion, he has
developed a certain sensitivity towards other people's needs.
While at work one day, William noticed that Robert Aves, his boss
in a bridge project, appeared worried. They talked, and Robert divulged that
his wife, Beverly, has cancer of the uterus. He has to go back to New Zealand
as quickly as possible to be with his wife.
Before Robert left, William asked if he could offer a prayer
intention for Beverly in the Friend of the Divine Mercy community's prayer at 3
p.m. of that day. "Yes," Robert quickly answered, "God can
help."
"If we have faith in Him, nothing is impossible," Willam
said, as they said their goodbyes.
William prayed for Beverly's recovery as promised.
And Robert received a message from him about the prayer intentions
for the healing of his wife. The couple promptly sent William a note of
gratitude.
Seven months later, Robert returned to Vietnam to resume his work.
But before he did, he arranged for a meeting with William and the rest of the
community of devotees of the Divine Mercy.
In that meeting, he announced with extreme joy that Beverly has
been healed almost a hundred percent!
"It is a miracle!" he exclaimed, while cheerfully
looking at William. Though they did not speak, they clearly exchanged a
multitudes of words across the throng of people celebrating the wonderful news.
Much like the prayer that William offered for Beverly, who clearly
received the healing power of the Lord courtesy of a sincere offering some
5,000 miles away.
