🍞🔔🕊️🛡️ Edwin Canonigo, a born again from Cebu has spread fake news about Saint Agatha!

First and foremost, Saint Agatha was born around 231 AD [St. Peter, the "First Pope" had his Papacy from 32 until 67] in Catania or Palermo, Sicily.

She was buried in Catania, Sicily, Italy, at the Badia di Sant'Agata (Church of the Abbey of Saint Agatha).

Edwin Canonigo quoted Roman 1:21-25.

But please take note that its sub-topic talks about “punishment of idolaters” (Romans 1:18-32) rather than St. Agatha!

St. Agatha is known as an early Christian virgin, martyr, and symbol of steadfast faith who endured severe torture during the Decian persecution in 3rd-century Sicily.

Key Reasons for Her Renown

Unwavering Faith and Chastity: A noble Christian woman from Catania or Palermo, she consecrated her life to God. She firmly rejected the advances and marriage demands of the Roman governor Quintianus.

Brutal Torture and Resistance: After refusing to renounce her faith, she was imprisoned in a brothel, beaten, and subjected to extreme torture—including the mutilation and amputation of her breasts.

According to tradition, St. Peter the Apostle appeared in her prison cell and miraculously healed her wounds. She was later rolled over hot coals before dying in prison around 251 AD.

The Miracle of Mount Etna: One year after her death, a violent eruption of Mount Etna threatened to destroy the city of Catania. Citizens carried her sacred veil in a procession toward the lava flow, which miraculously stopped and spared the city.

Patronages: She is widely venerated as the patron saint of breast cancer patients and those suffering from breast or chest diseases, nurses, fire protection and earthquakes, bellfounders/bell makers, and victims of rape and violence.

Iconography and Traditions: In Christian art, she is frequently depicted holding her severed breasts on a platter or carrying shears and tongs. In Catania, Italy, she is also celebrated through traditional breast-shaped pastries known as minne di sant'agata.

The latest major recorded activity for Saint Agatha was the celebration of the 9th Centenary of the Return of her Relics to Catania, Sicily, held from August 16 to August 17, 2026.

Key Details of the Event:

The Milestone: Commemorated 900 years since her relics were brought back to Catania fromConstantinople on August 17, 1126.

Coronation Ceremony: Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin—acting as the Pontifical Legate of Pope Leo XIV —solemnly crowned the silver-gilt reliquary bust containing Saint Agatha's skull on August 17, 2026.

Pilgrimage & Veneration: Thousands of the faithful took part in a 7.5 km night and day pilgrimage from Ognina to Piazza del Duomo, where Metropolitan Archbishop Luigi Renna presented her skull relic for public veneration before it was sealed back inside the reliquary.

Restoration Preview: Leading up to the anniversary, the Vatican Museums restoration team publicly presented the newly restored reliquary bust and the sacred Veil of Saint Agatha in Catania on July 20, 2026.

Aside from which, he also quoted 1 John 5:21 which says, “Children, be on your guard against idols.” 1 John 5:21 which says, " Children, be on your guard your against idols; but Saint Agatha had existed rather like a golden calf in the Old Testament which existed as an inanimate object!

While Psalm 115 also speaks about idol during the time of Aaron; but not during the time of Saint Agatha, and thus, has nothing to do with Saints, in general

Therefore, this video must be junked for its erroneous comprehension in Filipino"
