Jesus says, "Nation will rise against nation, & kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and  earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains." (Matthew 24:7-8)

Does it mean that what were going through at this time is one of the signs? We've been receiving media reports about many cases of famine all over the globe; wars of nations that have been on and  off, the earthquake that kill many lives, landslides and  floods that destroy both human and agriculture.

Recently, another terror-stricken issue has been alarming the whole world. The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns that the world is moving closer to the "tipping point" of 450 part per million (PPM) in carbon emission, with its current level of 372 PPM. If the 450 PPM level is breached by 2050, the world reaches the point of no return. I'm now in the middle years of my existence in this earth w/c means that my turn of generation is already the second to the last. Reaching that age, my crunchy bones and wrinkled skin will be toasted like coal. I can't imagine how it will be painful to be eaten by the rays of the sun. (Please be noted that that this  has been claimed as a hoax as updated in the current article.  You may watch the videos as presented in the subsequent paragraphs to ease the public from any burden-

Somehow, this is threatening because this will not be a natural death. But remember that this is only the sign of the beginning of the labor pains. When there is labor pain there is joy. A mother who has intensified pang on her childbearing always have great smile after she conquered the labor pain. The key is in our hands. What can we do if these real estate developers instead of preserving the trees continue cutting them? Do we have a choice if these illegal loggers continue to creep to the mountains to destroy the forest?

Our good climate suffers which has been disregarded knowing that everything’s natural. This happens because of the greed of many big institutions that are abusive on gas emission, pollution discharge in spite of the continuous warning of the church and  the experts.

What we can do individually is to continue doing the right thing for the benefit of this generation and all following generations by planting trees in our own backyards as continuous counter measure against global warming.

Global warming is just one of the signs of our labor pains. Although the danger is most likely to happen, if all of us remain silent, but the grace and mercy continue to abound because of God's love in us w/c is stronghold of our faith making us to believe that these future threats can be eradicated in the soonest possible time before it happens through team efforts of works and prayers because we believe that "With the Lord, one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day" (2 Peter 3:8)

Therefore the challenge is clear that whether there are threats of wars, famines, global warming, economic crises; we have to remain joyful and calm enjoying the best on serving and helping our neighbor around us in love, faith, hope and charity because our ultimate preparation is for the coming of the Lord not for the worries of the threats of the world.

Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation & those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light and the stars will fall from the sky, & the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, & they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send out the angels with a trumpet blast and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end.

Matthew 24:10-14 And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and deceive many and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many grows cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.
