The
world offers so much pleasures which motivate humans to toil so much. The
different gadgets that are quickly innovated mesmerize attention. The
captivating forms and styles of different apparels available on sight capture almost
everyone verily. The echoing sounds of digital audio and video equipment seize
up everyone’s interests.
After all, there's nothing wrong with these because of the fulfillment and enjoyment it gives as fruit of one’s labor. What makes it wrong is the habit of doing it out of competition and obsession wherein the need to replace and upgrade is not actually there which is done out of exaggerate craving, which is similar to what our ancestors did during the time of Exodus where they abused God’s generosity by wasting away manna because of excessive storage beyond their personal need.
Now that the employment rate drops terribly because of different industries that have fold up, everyone becomes panicky which puzzles the citizenry, "What will happen to our children in the next coming days?"
Naturally, this is human instinct. We worry so much of how to cope our enjoyment through material pleasures. Conversely, the negative news that hits our backyard terrorizes us.
I remember one story of a man who was worrying on what type of a gift he could buy for his grandson. While in search of it, he ends up choosing a horse in a ranch of his friend. On the occasion of his birthday, the godson was ultimately happy because of the horse which he had been desired long before. The next day, he was excited to rise earlier in the morning. He went to the mountain together with his horse. Because of too much excitement, he could not help himself but to shout "Praise the Lord!", as he rode the horse. The smart horse runs swiftly and uncontrollably. Because of intense happiness, the godson had able to shout "Halleluliah!" which brought the horse into halt. As they run a distance, the godson discovered the natural ability of the horse which runs quickly after hearing "Praise the Lord!" and stops immediately after hearing "Halleluliah!" The more that he was stirred into shouting "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!" The clever horse runs faster which he could not control anymore. The more that he was frightened when he noticed a cliff ahead of them. Because of fear, he forgets the phrase that warns the horse to stop. The horse runs closer and closer towards their death. Fortunately, he was able to recall the magic word "Halleluliah!" at a meter distance away from the tragedy. As if he wants to collapse already because of the terror. When it stops, he gasps increasingly to exhale. He was trembling and perspiring terribly because of the death-defying stunt. Because of so much gratitude, he could not control himself but to shout "Praise the Lord!" Guess what happened!
Most of the time, we’re like the godson who tends to be forgetful because of the terror on sight. We panic on the present ordeal we experience but we forget all the victories that we’ve gone through in many unexpected provisions of the Divine Power. Since Christ Jesus’ birth more than 2000 years ago and up to the last experience of uncertainties which terrifiy us badly, God never leave us helpless for the reason that we believe in Him, His providence, His mercy, His grace, His omnipotence, His abundance, His miracle, His Endless Love because He is the Alpha and the Omega, the One Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty. And most all, God simply loves us.
Matthew 6:31-34 So do not worry and say, “What are we to eat?” or “What are we to drink?” or “What are to wear?” All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.
James 1:2-4 Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Hebrew 11:1 Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.
