As much as possible I prefer not to talk about my past anymore because I've been in the healing process yet but the more I keep myself to be freed from here, the more I've been confronted to talk about it which I embrace, hoping and praying that by this little way, it could bring souls towards appreciation of God's love and His precepts. If given the chance, I also desire to have my own family with someone who could accept both my imperfections and attributes.
About a week ago, I posted about transsexuals who pay about £14,000 of surgery to become a man again after an unnatural life that ends in
regret and a total nightmare in one of the Google communities, which was removed
by the admin of the community so I reacted until we exchanged conversation
which ended up in utter dismay to the
other. Here's our conversation:

Christians does not address this issue. Read our About
this Community please. Thank you.

+Philippe Paquette, your community says: We truly believe that this Community of
CHRISTIANS should always be for the “uplifting” (edification) of our beloved
members and to the Glory of Christ our Lord."
SPREADING of news which talks about something that endangers one's life, relation with family and the community as a whole is is UPLIFTING (EDIFICATION) which serves as a CAUTION. Nevertheless, I respect your CHOICE if you're evasive of other social issues. THANKS.

What is the
definition of "Edification"? dear +Allan

And the other issue is "same gendered preference"
And the other issue is "same gendered preference"
Thanks
for your time, Phil.
YOU SAID: You say that you have had a same gender attraction since being very young. Would you say that being Gay is innate or not. En essence, is one born that way, in your own opinion. Or is it really a choice as you suggest?
ANSWER: Based on my exposure it was not innate. It progresses in the process because of wrong formation. Taken from my recollection, first, when I was a child, there was this aunt of mine who would take me to dance with her when she heard a danceable tune on the radio. From here, I adopt her graces on dancing than the masculine grace of a male. From here, I could still recall that I would go up in the roof of our house and copy the grace which she’s doing, which I concealed probably because I was conscious that what I was doing was not for my gender which I explored because I enjoyed it.
However, this stopped when at a certain point I experienced to have a sexual encounter with an opposite at a young age. Further, I could still remember that at this point I was naughty brought by the influence of cousins and I did not behave effeminately.
Next, this had been twisted when a cousin of mine influenced me in a same sex encounter, although there was no penetration occurred, the pumping that we exchanged together had pleasure so it turned to be a craving when that experience entered my mind. In the long run, this became a habit when we played hide-and-seek with my cousins, where we could do the same, doing it with different cousins. All were pumping though but was pleasurable.
Until such time that I moved to the city to explore job opportunity because I came from a province where I’ve been raised by a very poor family. In fact, what we had during our childhood up to college was only a radio because we could not afford to acquire any other. And the island where we grew up had no electricity (this has only installed with electricity in 2008 if my memory serves me right). This homosexuality became more intense because of rampant homosexuality in the city. In fact, whenever I watched a movie, I could not return to my boarding house anymore right after because somebody would bring me to a motel until it became an addiction.
My turning point began in the year 2000 when my conscience confronted me about this.
Since this is my issue, I tried to make different articles to address homosexuality and how to conquer it. Of course, it’s not an overnight process especially to people who have already been addicted by its pleasure, but by taking few steps would lead to perfection.
If a person does not practice homosexuality in his childhood, then inevitably the body and brain will not be as good at this type as the body and brain of someone who practices them regularly. If a boy is drawn in activities that are sex-atypical for boys, such as "playing house," then that will produce a brain that is different from the typical male brain – same with lesbianism
YOU SAID: I always divorce "General Gays" with "Christian Gays". I believe that non Christian Gays are extremely immoral in "general". Now I do admit that this is a generalization... but there is truth to it.
ANSWER: Right. Because the foundation of everything should be anchored with the Scriptures values because this has been created not to suppress everyone's freedom but to PROTECT everybody’s freedom because this is humanity’s safety net. AIDS multiplication, wars, divorce etc, which destroy the orderliness of the society and family have been occurring because of conditional obedience of the precepts brought by twisting these commandments. It’s just that because of government’s pride by separating the Church and the State, this has not been followed conscientiously.
Supposed to be, following of the Scriptures is not conditional but because of violence in the past perpetrated by both government leaders and some Church authorities, CONFUSION stems, brought by RADICALISM.
YOU SAID: A Christian Gay is not partaking with the general population of immoral gays but are united with another of the same faith and they live faithfully... under the same moral requirements of any hetero couples before God. Do you agree with this? The reason I ask this is that Christians in general don't make a difference. I do and I think the Lord does.
ANSWER: Generally yes, although at some point a homosexual who wholeheartedly embraces Christianity after realization of a lifestyles that are with flaws may still be tempted to do the same mistake because as I’ve said TRANSFORMATION IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT PROCESS. However, what is good in here is that, the awareness has already been planted in his/her heart, mind and conscience. Sooner or later this has no other way out but to progress gradually (just like how homosexuality progresses when adopted gradually in childhood).
Supposed to be, Christianity should emerge in ONE SPIRIT. It’s just that because of government leaders who formulate laws that enhance homosexuality and infidelity against wives and husbands through legalization of divorce (which gave an idea to the homosexuals to formulate also a law for them) because of political agenda of some, this SPIRIT OF ONENESS HAS BEEN TAINTED. For example, in the U.S. and other developed countries, who legalize divorce and same sex marriage, these factors destroy that oneness in spirit.
The Philippines where I come from was not infected by AIDS but now it’s already multiplying, and this has been caused by that ONENESS IN SPIRIT THAT HAS NOT BEEN PRESERVED.
Nevertheless, this has already been in the system which could hardly be removed, unless there are zealous leaders in the government who would have the courage to re-store that ONENESS IN SPIRIT. However, while I am amenable that it is difficult because of SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, a layman like me could still make a difference by constant reminders through write ups on social network and websites to reach out to the society to somehow awaken some if not all, despite the left and right rejection and condemnation.
YOU SAID: And it's not a question of the Bible. There are some (like myself) who understand the Holy Scriptures on related passages to Homosexuality within the context of the verse and they don't apply to Christian Gays. Not even close... but most Christians have been thought that this topic is black and white and I am of the Christian school of thought that this topic has many shades of grey...
ANSWER: This has been so because of people who interpret the Bible according to their private interpretation while disregarding the authority of the Church, discarding the real essence of what was written and replace it with something that addresses their personal feelings, than the common good.
If I may ask, what particular topic in the Bible did you find as something that's enveloped with shades of grey?
Thanks likewise.

Shades of Grey.
First, thanks for your transparent soul +Allan Ecleo.
I thank God for brother and sisters like you (and this has nothing to do with same gender preference).
I just love brothers and sisters who have the courage to speak up and speak out their own conviction... and the more when it comes to very "sensitive" issue. The GAY issue is huge within the Spouse of Christ at this venture of our History and we have a Living Teacher, the Holy Spirit, that still resides on earth with us to Teach us in all things as our Blessed Lord promised HE would.
From my 43 years of daily studying Scriptures, either personally or at University levels, I am saddened but the fact that it would seem to me that most Christians today (sorry to sound judgmental but that is not my motive) are simply not "sensitive" to our God the Holy Spirit.
They were taught something... years, decades and centuries ago... and thus, that makes it truth when in fact, the Truth only comes from God and the Holy Teacher and not from History or Practice or Tradition.
In fact, the Truth is fluid. It may be subjective but in the end, it needs to become objective. So we are always called to learn and to shut down ourselves to anything is no longer following in the footsteps of our Gracious Lord nor is it to hear the Voice of the Holy Spirit.
Church History has always changed... and in general, the greatest moments were always for the better.
We can start with the Jewish Faith System in the times of the Apostle... but that was made clear by the Apostles themselves. We are no longer under Judaism. The 10 commandments are replaced by 2: "Love your God, love your neighbor". Freedom and Social security.
The Divinity of Christ in the 4th Century was clearly established and that marked the way for traditional Christianity. The one that you and I follow... to our tomb. Yet, we still have Arianism (Jehovah Witnesses).
Saved by faith and not by works, Luther. We have this... but it required a huge revolution within the Spouse of Christ to return to the basics at that time.
Then, in my opinion, we had the Rapture revealed and Dispensationalism. To me (at least), this teaching is historical because it makes the Scriptures solid from Genesis to Revelation. Everything stands together.
In the Roman Catholic Church, I also personally think that Vatican II was a magnificent and needed change to bring Catholics back to Christ... and it has in an amazing way.
It is true that all Denominations have their own core values and I understand that... but the fundamentals always refer back to Christ. Who HE was, What HE is and so forth. We need to be "Christocentric". (Centered on Christ).
To our topic.
Being Gay... or Shade of Grey.
Recently, Franklin Graham announced that all Churches in the world should get rid of all Gays and Lesbians in their churches. That's it, that all.
Now, I LOVE Billy Graham. I believe him to be the greatest Evangelist of our Time... and Historically, Billy will be part of the annals of the Great Servants of God on the Public Domain. I am privileged to have seen and known of him.
But sorry, I don't agree with Franklin. Billy's son. He is too political (for one) and he is... hum... Lord help me here... he is not right....
I do not believe that we should "excommunicate" faithful Christians who are married and live faithfully in love with each other from our Churches.
I know of 2 ladies, Christians, totally in love and totally living moral lives as humans, involved in their Communities to help the poor and they chose to adopt children. They are all Down Syndrome Children. (My 4th child, a girl is Down and I love her so... she makes me laugh every single day and she is our perfect child - even if I love to death the other 3 older ones). All this to say that these people should not be put out of the Church and it is time for us to recognize that Christ would not either.
Shades of Grey in Scripture:
Matthew (simply to start with because I don't have the time to cover all of the verses because it is 5 a.m. here... ya know...) but let's start with Matthew.
"Some are Eunuchs from the bosom of their mother, some are from man and some for the Kingdom of Heaven" (from memory). Late. not time for research from here.
3 types of Eunuchs: the last is for the Kingdom... or to Serve. Think of the Apostle Paul.
the 2nd is "Eunuchs" by men. Ya. Castrated. Because of a number of reasons. i) The Master did not want his male Slave to touch his Harem; ii) if castrated, a slave will probably not run away because he has no other life awaiting him; iii) The first one in the verse in Matthew, Eunuchs from the belly (womb) of their mother.
We have been thought that these Eunuchs were a) or b). a) Deformed from birth or b) infertile.
Well, let's ignore "infertile" because one does not know when they are babies... so that makes no sense. So we have a) left: Deformed.
Sorry but that explanation is idiotic. Malformed babies from birth (relating to their reproductive abilities) are very rare. Some of them are 1 out of 135,000 babies. As these words were written, the population of Jerusalem was 80,000 persons. Thus, if anything, in all of Israel, you did not have more than 5 to 7 malformed or handicapped reproductive children) baby in all of Israel.
No. Same gender attraction has always existed since ever. During the Greek Period, it was not only OK... it was expected. Any male Greek had his own little boy if he wanted too. In the Roman times, it was common but not spoken of. The manhood of a Roman soldier was priority... but they all had their slaves, whether males of females in the original, they are called "bed keepers".
So who are those Eunuchs born from the womb. Many Biblicist agree that they were Gay.
Another Grey area in Matthew. I think (sorry for my lack of time so I speak from memory only) Matthew 8. The Roman Centurion.
Read that passage... and read when "Jesus wondered" (Darby translation in English - literal). I would have lots so say about this scene but read it... I am rather convinced that both his "servant" (slave) and himself were in love... and Christ cures the young man (slave). Not only that but HE attested that HE had never seen such great Faith in all of Israel.
Food for thought.
Nite. I really must go.

YOU SAID:it would seem to me that most Christians today (sorry to sound judgmental but that is not my motive) are simply not "sensitive" to our God the Holy Spirit.
ANSWER: Right. That’s actually the problem of the society and its leaders. That’s why somebody from both these sectors should remain zealous with re-echoing these values modeled through the Scriptures repeatedly, considering the advent of technology that’s very fast in spreading both the wrong values and right values which influence the public, and forgetfulness of humans by nature.
YOU SAID: Recently, Franklin Graham announced that all Churches in the world should get rid of all Gays and Lesbians in their churches. That's it, that all.
ANSWER: I DON’T THINK IT’S CHRISTIAN enough to get rid of all gays and lesbians in all the churches around the world because homosexuality is but another form of immorality just like the straight guys' and girls' sexual immorality – STRAIGHT GUYS/GIRLS SUCCUMB TO PREMARITAL SEX, PORNOGRAPHY NIGHT LIFE ON STRIP CLUBS, ETC. and HOMOSEXUALITY TO SAME GENDER SEXUAL ACTS. All of these acts on separate genders are SEXUAL IMMORALITIES which need value re-formation and awareness than getting rid of them. Getting rid of homosexuals who engage in same gender sexual acts without getting rid of straight guys who are into opposite gender sexual acts is tantamount to saying that the latter is CORRECT than the other.
What the Church needs is constant teachings that address the issue on sexual immoralities for both the homosexuals and heterosexuals to keep them reminded and be fed with matured disposition towards transformation.
YOU SAID: I do not believe that we should "excommunicate" faithful Christians who are married and live faithfully in love with each other from our Churches. I know of 2 ladies, Christians, totally in love and totally living moral lives as humans, involved in their Communities to help the poor and they chose to adopt children. They are all Down Syndrome Children.
ANSWER: In the Catholic Church, there are nine sins that carry the penalty of automatic excommunication: apostasy (the total repudiation of the Christian faith), heresy (obstinate doubt or denial, after baptism, of a defined Catholic doctrine), schism (refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or the refusal to be in communion with members of the Church who are in communion with him), violating the sacred species (throwing away the consecrated species of Christ's body or blood or the taking or retaining of them for a sacrilegious purpose), physically attacking the pope, sacramentally absolving an accomplice in a sexual sin, consecrating a bishop without authorization, and directly violating the seal of confession, and abortion (including the accomplices) - EXCEPT MINORS CONSIDERING THEIR IMPERFECT USE OF REASON.
Priesthood’s vows on celibacy is not a forced vow but a voluntary which is emulated on Jesus who did not marry in His entire ministry on earth. Theologically, Paul makes it very clear that remaining single allows one’s attention to be undivided in serving the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:32-35). He recommends celibacy to all (1 Corinthians 7:7) but especially to ministers, who as soldiers of Christ He urges to abstain from "civilian affairs" (2 Timothy 2:3-4). Priests more closely model, configure themselves to, and consecrate themselves to Jesus.
Canonically, priests belonging to religious orders who take vows of celibacy cannot marry, and the Church has established impediments that block the legality of marriages attempted by those who have been ordained. The impediment remains as long as the priest has not been dispensed from it, even if he were to attempt a civil marriage, even if he left the Church and joined a non-Catholic sect, and even if he apostatized from the Christian faith altogether. He cannot be validly married after ordination unless he receives a dispensation from the Holy See.

All this to say that these people should not be put out of the Church and it is time for us to recognize that Christ would not either.
ANSWER: What can I say more when it speaks about LOVE which is always the ultimate foundation of everything towards dependability, harmony and tranquility.
YOU SAID: Same gender attraction has always existed since ever. During the Greek Period, it was not only OK... it was expected. Any male Greek had his own little boy if he wanted too. ANSWER: Nevertheless, this commission on homosexuality perpetrated in the ancient times which had already been ransomed by Jesus through His death and resurrection again manifests in this generation just like any other types of sins (premarital sex, pornography, wars, terrorism, abortion, divorce, drug trafficking/human trafficking, etc) which needs constant evangelization hoping that through God’s grace, they would be reminded as much as I was being reminded which brought me to GRADUAL TRANSFORMATION THAN TOLERATING HOMOSEXUALITY THROUGH ENACTMENT OF LAWS THAT ACCEPT ENHANCEMENT OF HOMSEXUALITY BUT REPAIRING OF VALUES.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND BEST REGARDS!

I
hate to be harsh, +Allan Ecleo but your position on
Catholicism precedes Vatican II and I know of many who reject Vatican II and
with deep regret.
Francis would not agree with you on many of your own arguments. I don't know who your teachers are but they are certainly from a cultural backyard place that has not advanced as Francis has... as well as the "real" Roman Catholic System.
So, It has now become a spectacle where you consider true Christians as (your definition of Catholics) - and that is passe...and every other Denominations are Sects according to your own ignorant words and frankly, I did not expect this of you. I thought I was sharing with a young person with some strong spiritual and intellectual insight... and now I see how narrow minded and legalistic you are. A waste of time for me and our readers.
To our Members : Sorry brothers and sisters. I thought we had something of interest here.. I may delete the entire thread with this conclusion. Will pray on it. Promise... but what a sad ending...
My proposal, Allan, self-reflect, learn and repent: Stop learning from the ones that are teaching you because you are on the wrong path... certainly not on the Path of Christ.
So let's put an end to this sad conclusion of Catholicism being the only Truth when in Fact, Christ is our ONLY TRUTH.
I will no longer continue this discussion with you because of your false teachings that are hurting the Spouse of Christ... (this Community) and I am happy to leave you in the Good Hands or our Blessed Lord. He HAS far more Grace than I do.
Adieu.

It's okay Philip. I think I've said everything what I supposed to say. If you think these are detrimental to your community, your family and yourself in particular, then your freedom is still yours. If God respects my freewill then who am I to repress your freewill. Let God be the judge among us but not anyone of us.
Thanks for your time and may God bless your heart.

I must confess my lack of discernment to the members here in having this discussion with a person that seems
inexperienced and "possibly" far more self-centered and religiously
centered than Christ-centered.
I made a mistake.
Of course, I don't want to judge here because judgement comes from above, not from men... and I am a simple man.
Yet, this person needs time to learn (and repent) in my humble opinion.
This Community is far too spiritually mature to waste our valuable time on discussing issues with what now seems to be "spiritual immaturity", self love and love for the Systems of men. I love youth and I know that I need patience with them... and I do have that patience (I hope... I think)... but I have a real issue, regardless of age, with those who are more in love with man's Religion than with God's Revelation.
I do attempt to teach with patience... but I cannot do anything with self-lovers.
I am sorry to our members... and will attempt to use more dependence on our Blessed Lord in my discernment. I sort of fall for young people because some of them are our future... but until this gentleman understands and grows in the things (and the image) of Christ, I made a mistake.
I have confessed myself before Christ and I am sharing with you my sincere regrets, dear members for my lack of discernment.
As to Allen, I am happy to leave him in the good hands of the Lord.

"To
avoid rash judgment, everyone should be careful to interpret insofar as
possible his neighbor’s thoughts, words, and deeds in a favorable way:
"Every good Christian ought to be more ready to give a favorable
interpretation to another’s statement than to condemn it. But if he cannot do
so, let him ask how the other understands it. And if the latter understands
it badly, let the former correct him with love. If that does not suffice, let
the Christian try all suitable ways to bring the other to a correct
interpretation so that he may be saved." (Catechism of the Catholic Church CCC 2478)
