Yes, God calls Catholicism as Catholics. How?
Matthew 16:18-19 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Meaning Jesus’ word to the Apostles is perpetual and honors His anointed in terms of decision-making.
The Greek roots of the term "Catholic" means "according to the whole," or more colloquially, "universal."
For your additional information, the word CATHOLIC has been embedded in the APOSTLES CREED.
Before they separated, the Apostles met in Jerusalem in the first Council of the Church. There they conceptualized a brief statement of their principal doctrines, to make their preaching wherever they may be. This statement of the articles of faith is called today as "The Apostles' Creed." This was formulated in order to put into fruition Jesus’ command "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you all days" (Matthew 28:19-20)..
The Apostles' Creed has been preserved, except for a few clauses added by the Church later, in order to thwart different heresies. Nevertheless, these additions are not new doctrines, but a clarification of what the Creed already contained. Thus the words "Creator of Heaven and earth" were added to counteract the Manichaean heresy that the world was created by the principle of evil; and the word "Catholic" was added, to distinguish the True Church from churches appearing around it. As Jesus said, "And you also bear witness, because from the beginning you are with Me" (John 15:27.
The following are the articles:
1. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
2. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord;
3. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary;
4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
5. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead;
6. He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
7. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
8. I believe in the Holy Ghost;
9. The Holy Catholic Church; the Communion of Saints;
10. The forgiveness of sins;
11. The resurrection of the body;
12. And life everlasting. Amen.
Now, would you mind telling, how did your Church spring as a community? Because as far as I know, anyone who opposes the Church opposes Jesus Himself as He said, “Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Your gesture of putting down the anointed (Catholic Shepherds in general) is a clear manifestation of the latter.
Your protestation against Catholic could only be associated to:
Psalm 2:1-2 Why do the nations protest and the peoples grumble in vain? Kings on earth rise up and princes plot together against the LORD and His ANOINTED.
