Republic of the Philippines, come hold my hand
and I will fly you to the future. There would be a
uniform rule of law, not the rule of men or of people who bribe judges and
other arbitrators in litigation. (1)
Our economy will be devoted to
construction and reconstruction and will always be able to depend on 5% to 7%
of the GDP. (1)
However, despite all
these frenzied activity, we will keep the budget at 3% of GDP. (2)
In agriculture, we will modernize
with irrigation, water impounding facilities, infrastructure, credit
available for poor farmers and other technological advances in agriculture
that other countries have already adopted. (3)
In the field of the peace and order, the police and the military will have bigger budgets
and will have better training and will have better equipment. (4)
And finally, most exciting of all, we shall have a new alternative city somewhere near Clark area where
we shall have at last freedom from congestion.
(5)
But finally, my emphasis will be on the
youth, the young people of this country. I've always loved the young people
and I will never fail them in the next six years. (1)
Thank you.

1). The
figures could be crystal-clear if sources of these provisions are laid down.
GDP can never be understood by non-educated
voters so this should have translated in simple terms that can be more appreciated
by the masses. It can be recalled that she attacked Grace Poe for her
American citizenship but here she is who can’t speak fluently in Tagalog
while the other spoke naturally and straightly in Tagalog. It appears that Grace Poe is more Filipino
than she is.
2). It’s
good to know her emphasis on the youth, but it could be better if she cited
specifics, what is/are her particular projects intended for them. Because
this would appear as a mere imagination without concretizing it.

May I address myself to the nation, to the Filipino people and to the
(Pangasinense), good afternoon to all of you!
We are nearing the end game in a few days. We
have stated our programs here not clear, but sometimes very clear. (1)
I am presenting myself as a candidate for the Presidency. You have
seen me in public, how I behave and you have heard my
blunders of words… (2)
And, you know, we have have our faults. I have many in my
life. (3)
But one thing I can assure you as I have done before, and which I am
up to, I said, if you just listen to my effetes, my curses and
my, you know, bad words, look at my back,
so you'll see there the Filipino on bended knees, hungry and very mad at this
country for doing nothing. (1)
I would like to correct certain injustices in this government.
But I can assure you, that it will be a clean government and you will have a
peaceful country. (2)
And of course I said, drugs, which is my
main target, I hope to suppress them to the end. (3)
All that I can say is, I have many plans. I can even copy the plans of
my good friends here, Grace and Ma'am Miriam. For after all, it is a product
of intellect which I can use.
I am used to copying. In Grade 1, I was already cheating.
Thank you very much!

1). This is already the final debate and in his
visit around the country, at least he should have absorbed the issues
disclosed by the local government units which are his allies. So he should have focused on problems attached
with his specific solution than mixing it with unclear issues which implies
that he’s presenting thoughts that are invalid.
2). Although it’s good that he is aware of his
blunders, because awareness can be a sign that he could measure what is good
and what is bad, which is thus an indication of possible transformation. Transformation is impossible to anyone
who’s unaware of his mistakes when one rationalizes them. But when will he
start transforming from his blunders?
He’s already 70 years old and at this age, it’s not anymore suitable
for him to be seen with such ungracious gestures especially that he’s not
only a public servant but he’s also educated.
That would be understandable if he’s not learned. Ironically, some of the people in the
mountains who are not schooled could behave rightfully. How can it be
possible to correct injustices of this country when one who is attempting to
correct also needs to be corrected?
3). Admission that he has many faults in
his life may imply that he has other misgivings other than blunder of words,
as an educated. Admission is not
synonymous to transformation and healing especially that it could still be
mirrored in his speech so it could be possible that some of these faults are
still part of his life, which can be a threat while on his governance.

When 2022 comes, the people in Binay
Administration would have experienced progess, the
Filipinos would have moved forward in their lives. (1)
Why? In the area of family, almost
all of the Filipinos will have their own decent home. (1)
When it it comes to health, Filipinos will be healthy and far from illness. (2)
Poor families will be admitted
to our quality hospitals for free including services and medicines. (3)
On education, the
students in the entire Philippines will experience having a computer, free
school supplies, everything is free. (4)
Concerning employment, almost
of the people will be employed.
Why? Because there is an influx of foreign
investors, employment in agriculture, manufacturing, export, tourism and BPO.
(5)
On food, all of the
Filipino families will eat three square
meals. (6)
With regards to government, there will be no more negligence. Analysis paralysis will never happen
anymore. Because my cabinet members
are competent and reliable. (7)
That will happen.
In the long run, Filipinos will be proud of
themselves that they are Filipinos.

1). It’s easy to say the country can be progressive
in his/her administration. But the question is:
what are the specifics? What and who
will be the sources of progress?
Although there are no specifics
with regard to the sources of these funds, I will not oppose these seemingly
too good to be true promises. I myself never experience progress because of
the difficulty to look for a job especially to overage individual like
me. My
father when hospitalized never felt a good provision of the
Philhealth, and out of 9 siblings 4 of them were not able to finish college
obviously because there’s no such things as free education (free board and
lodging, 100% free tuition fee).
3). I don’t know how it would be possible for him to attract foreign
investors in the presence of “planting of amunition scam”, excessive
corruption, high income tax rate (being the highest among the six ASEAN
countries – Philippines 30%, Thailand 20%, Indonesia 25%, Malaysia 25% ,
Vietnam 22% and Singapore 17%), but I’ll take his word for this because so
far his Makati administration has been productive so it’s possible that his management style
while on his presidency can be prolific.
4). If all the current accusations against him on
corruption are true, and if he wins despite this fact (considering that the
voting public varies in their perspective when it comes to choice of a candidate),
I hope that he may transform this country by copying not the allegations
thrown against him but all the productivity he made in Makati. Thus, I took all his promises (except
number 1) as realistic although he did not present his concrete
specifications of the projects.

To our countrymen, we’re journeying into two
paths in this coming election. One is
the one that we could be proud of to our children. While the other is the backward path or to
return into the dark side.
We don’t want a government that’s
insensitive, who does not listen to the grievance of our countrymen, who
could not discern poverty. (1)
That
there‘s a great number of children who are still into starvation. That there are still a lot of children who
go through difficulty on their education and commit suicide because of
deprivation to finish college. That
our farmers pay irrigation but without water supply. That our fishermen are helpless fighting
against China’s vessels using only a stone.
Our new administration will concentrate on the needs of our countrymen. Permanent
job, food for every table, (1) respect towards everybody’s right, especially the
women who should be attended to and not to be belittled and be persecuted. (2)
In our administration, we will take you in a
place where there is equal opportunity for
everybody than for a few. (3)
Countrymen, the night is darkest before
daybreak. Have faith, we will get
there, but we need the right choice and most of all we should discern on what
is beneficial to the country.

1). I don’t
think the present administration is insensitive to the grievance of the
people. It’s just that the country’s
treasury has almost been emptied brought by excessive corruption so there are
sectors that are really compromised because of tight government budget. Six years may not be enough to cope with
the deep-rooted problems of the government because of mismanagement since the
ancient times and up to this generation. So every president would really need
to be zealous enough to clean up the government from corrupt officials,
Otherwise, this will be forever.
2). Although it is not clear because of not
bringing out the concrete formula on how or where can she get the fund to
address poverty, lack of support to the farmers, hunger, I indeed chose her
plans as realistic (except the issue on insensitivity on number 1) hoping
that a “young inexperienced” like her can implement all the promises of the
“elderly experts” who broke their promises brought by corruption that
occurred.

Good evening to all of you. Thank you very much to you.
By 2022, I can foresee a progressive and a decent country. Ten million employments shall be made in my term. (1) These jobs in factories, call centers, tourism,
construction, small and microenterprises will grow because our economy will
be progressive. (1)
I can see a country that is free from
fear. (2) You’re guaranteed of a home if you’re poor. If stricken
with an ailment, typhoon, or any type of calamity, the government will help
you. (2)
If you’re a farmer, fisherman, you
will have a weather-based insurance so you will not be at lost. (3) Crime is addressed through law not
through gun powder. (4)
Violence is addressed through
infrastructure and jobs, not by gunpowder.
I can see a country that could freely dream,
wherein we will multiply, we shall add millions
on 4Ps (Pantawid
Pamilyang Pilipino Program – assistance for the
impoverished Filipinos)
so it can help more and many are
assured that their children can graduate. (5)
Our graduate will obtain
scholarship for them to pursue education. (6)
Poverty will not be a hindrance to
acquire quality education. (7)
Ahead of us is a decent and progressive
future. All we need to do is to grab
it.
The future is already in our hands. Being hopeful, join me in creating a better
future for everybody.
Thank you very much.

1). The promise on ten million employment can be feasible because so far the call
centers which he brought to the Philippines have been doing good in terms of
mass hiring. However, it’s not clear
wether those 35 years old and above can be freely accommodated by these different industries
(exclusive of call centers as it hire almost all ages) considering that the
Philippine industries are very much particular of age, who seldom hire people
that are within the bracket of 35 years old and beyond. These people also would like to survive a
living. In Singapore, we can notice
that old people are even accepted as Service Crew in Mcdonalds, which you
cannot find here in the Philippines (at least I could spot one here in
Zapote, Cavite).
3). It’s
good to forecast to have a country that is free from fear, but how? The
number of people who compromise their tranquility brought by planting of
amunition scandal in the airport still continues. These people go out of the country to earn
for a living not to be extorted by these airport personnel and be apprehended
or jailed later on in a case which they never did. Mar Roxas should have included this in his
plan. Thus, I treat his claim that the
country will be free from fear as idealistic because this remains vague.
